The entire ball program for 2019

The Ball committee of the 77th Pharmacy Ball wants all guests to enjoy an unforgettable night! Enjoy wonderful melodies, charming people and a great ball program.

Ball guests of the 77th Pharmacy Ball can once more expect a varied program, peppered with highlights, dances, enjoyment and entertainment to participate in the festival rooms of the Vienna Hofburg.

The Austrian Pharmacists' Chamber with its very special ideas has ensured that the ball night on Saturday, 19 January 2019, will be entertaining and unforgettable.

Under the patronage of the Austrian Federal President Dr. Alexander Van Der Bellen this year’s ball motto is “Ball Bohème” - a sophisticated recipe that lets our guests dream of Paris in the era 1880-1995. It also guarantees limitless dance enjoyment in the swing of this romantic time.

The international guests will be in the best mood for waltzing as they mingle with pharmacists from Austria and abroad, as well as rubbing shoulders with representatives from the government, and local and international representatives of the pharmaceutical industry. (A bit on the long side. Feel free to split this in two if you agree)

Musical program

The official ball motto “Ball Bohème” is a charming invitation for all passionate dancers to conquer the dance floor in one of the most splendid ballrooms of the Vienna Hofburg. Guests will be entertained throughout the evening by the varied sounds of the numerous top-class orchestras and bands.

Two orchestras provide musical entertainment from 21.45 to 04.00 o'clock in the main ballroom “Festsaal”: the renowned Grand Ball Orchestra of Wolfgang Ortner stands for a large repertoire of classical dance music. Alternating, the Vienna Guard Music Big Band provides a lively change on the dance floor.

In addition, Jazzklusiv accompanied by singer Carole Alston will provide a unique atmosphere in “Ceremoniensaal” from 21.45 to 04.00 o'clock with jazzy classics arranged in a modern way and packed into swinging rhythms.

Meanwhile, at “Forum” temperament and pure lust for life is in demand – hot and powerful Latino rhythms from Carla Natascha & Salsa Band will make you swing your hips also from 21.45 to 04.00 o'clock! In addition, DJ Ivan – who makes his debut in the dancing world of Salsa – will be making the “Latino Lounge” a lively place.

Smooth relaxing is the name of the game when pianist Charly Hloch performs stress-free melodies in “Rittersaal”.

For the first time “Gartensaal” will be functioning as a traditional Viennese wine restaurant “Heuriger”. Quintonia Brass, a musical contrast program, will show what modern brass bands are all about.

From 10 pm to 4 am the Hitradio Ö3 Balldisco will rock “Alte Hofküche” until the early morning hours.
